How much does it cost to repair airbags?
The cost of replacing an airbag outright can be several hundred dollars, although it once again depends partially upon the exact make and model of the car that you're working with. Expect to pay on the order of $1000 to $1500 per airbag to be replaced.
Can we put airbags in an old car?
No. Airbags, ABS and most other safety equipment CANNOT be fitted later. The vehicle is engineered for this from body shell upwards. So several vehicles need to be crash tested to install these.
Why do you have to disable airbags after an accident?
The U.S. Fire Administration advises rescue personnel to disconnect the cables whenever possible, since cutting them can cause an electrical arc and fire. In a severe crash, make certain the battery case has not been penetrated with metal body parts that could recomplete the electrical circuit.

What would cause my airbag light to come on?
The most common cause for the airbag light coming on is that the airbag system is deactivated or turned off. There may be an issue with a crash sensor, SRS module, or other airbag component. Alternatively, the sensor in the passenger seat that determines whether that airbag should be active or not may be faulty.
