Is Plasti Dip Permanent?

Posted on January 9, 2022January 10, 2022

The thing is, plasti dip isn’t designed to bond permanently on a surface. Therefore, no matter what you do, plasti dip will never bond to your car paint permanently. It is more of a temporary solution and if you want something that’s going to last, go for automotive paint and then add a clear coat.

Is Plasti Dip hard to remove?

The product is extremely easy to remove… when applied correctly. A common cause of difficulty removing is due to either not applying enough coats of the product or not properly preparing the surface for the paint. We've seen that the coating will still come off, it can just be a very difficult and tedious process.

How does Plasti Dip come off?

Plasti Dip is an easy way to color your car for cheap and, when it's applied correctly, is also easy to remove. Lift the edges of the Plasti Dip to peel it off in a big sheet. When the Dip is too thin to be peeled, it has to be scrubbed off with WD-40 or a dip remover.

Will Plastidip peel?

If the coating was applied outside the recommendations or guidelines, it might be weakened and tear easily. Likewise, if only one or two coats were applied, it will peel off in tiny little pieces rather than one easy sheet.
